Forget The Dollies, Bring Me The Dim Sum

The Dim Sum Dollies are back by popular demand ! Dim Sum Comes in 3, featuring Selena Tan ( 大包 ), Pam Oei ( 小龙包) , Emma Yong (蛋塔) and not forgetting using Chop Sticks (Hossan Leong) to eat your dim sum !

Managed to secure two Cat 2 tickets at staff price which was originally priced at $80. The response was so overwhelming that almost all shows are sold out by now, if not just left with very limited seats. How many gv movies can you watch at this price ? Movies you can always watch it on dvd or download through internet, but Dim Sum Dollies "da boleh" ( cannot ) !

The play History of Singapore relates how our tiny island was discovered by Alexander the Great, ghengis khan, Julius Caesar, etc ... all prior to Sunny lah utama who fancied the island too small to rule. Then the story slowly progress to Sir Stamford Raffles era, often in between filled with political jokes and latest buzzing issue like Formula One, integrated resort and MediaCorp artist drink drunk hit and run accident all seamlessly blended into the dialogs.

Our "great" government are often mentioned in the show, purposeLEE using the word LEE, like seriousLee you guys are very luckiLEE to live in Singapore, which will prospect eternaLEE ... With the mixture of different language spoken in the show, it showcase our rojak culture that is uniquely to Singapore especially with the excessive use of singlish, wah really no horse run man ! You would be surprise by vulgarities as well, tuna= tiu, lan lan etc ...

Are you referring to me ? (Mr Lee)

Not only did they come out with witty dialogs ( some jokes you have to catch ), they did a good job portraying how our dear fellow brothers (malay and indian) speak and act, the accent by Dim Sum Dollies and Hossan Leong are almost like the authentic, demonstrating malay "relac" attitude and indian talk only no action habit. There are far too many examples to illustrate on our Singapore society, gotta give them a standing ovation for the excellent crude jokes specially on the garment, like free trade got no tax meh ? , brothel called NTUC (night time u come), guns pointing at the wrong side and japanese come invade from our backside.

Guess who had the last (or loudest ) laugh, it was the ang mohs sitting at my row ! They even laughed at the hokkien dialog, what are the chances of them understanding it or are they just mocking at our language ? Cruel but it's a fact that this show accurately reflect on how things are been run in Singapore and that's very funny to the ang mohs.

The rise of Dim Sum Dollies

I know after writing so much where are the pictures of the play ? Well actually photography is strictly prohibited for the respect of the production crew and also to prevent terrorist from planning on sabotaging the theater.

Don't forget one of my forte is 偷拍, do anything you want but don't get caught, some ignorant fool was happily snapping with flash light before getting a stern warning from the usher. That was the best i could muster from my handphone camera, can't expect me to whip out a digital camera with zoom under the surveillance eyes of usher right ?
